• The Fernando Award was presented to Niminde & Jeneeka Perera June 7th 2008 at their high school graduation. Every year, the Fernando award, is presented along with a scholarship to five students from the San Fernando Valley that have committed numerous hours of dedication to Community Service.  Among many schools across the San Fernando Valley, Chaminade High  School had three students who received the award. Out of the three, Jeneeka and Niminde received the award and scholarship for their remarkable community service work in Sri Lanka . Not only are the hours acknowledged , the amount of change the students were able to initiate through their community service, set them apart from all the rest.
